About

Bard’s Adopt a Book program allows donors to be directly involved in the preservation of fragile historical materials in the special collections of the Bard College Library. Once a title is selected for adoption, it will be sent to a conservator for stabilization and repair.  Donors (either as individuals or listed as a group) will receive acknowledgement on the website, and if desired, a bookplate will be inscribed with the appropriate name(s) and affixed to the protective enclosure.  All contributions are tax deductible.

Bard has many hundreds of titles needing conservation treatment of which these are just a sample.  If you would like more information about this project, or other titles in need of conservation, please contact Helene Tieger, College Archivist, at (845) 758-7396; or tieger [at] bard [dot] edu. For information about other ways to participate, including payments over time, or group adoptions, please contact Robert Laity, (845) 758-7315.
