Lectures ca. 1788

This book has been adopted by Helene Tieger, ’85.

Bard, Samuel.

Written in his beautiful, precise hand, this single volume, bound manuscript represents Samuel Bard’s lectures primarily on natural philosophy taught at Columbia College [formerly King’s College; now Columbia University] about 1788. Many carefully drawn diagrams illustrate the text.

Samuel Bard was, like his father Dr. John Bard, a prominent physician of his time who helped found the College of Physicians and Surgeons at King’s College.
